VP = Volume of the calibrated pycnometer [cm3]

mp = Mass of the empty pycnometer [g]

mPTI = Mass of the pycnometer filled with test item [g]

TP = Temperature of the pycnometer at point of measurement [C]

pTI = Density of the test item [g/cm3]

CV = Coefficient of variation [%]

The relative density D20 4 of the test item was calculated to be 0.9491.

Validity Criteria

The temperatures at moments of weighing were kept constant within 20.0 ± 0.1 °C.

The coefficient of variation of the three replicate measurements was < 2 %. No outlier was ascertained.

Conclusions:
The substance is less dense than water.
Executive summary:

The relative density of the test substance was measured under GLP according OECD 109 / EU A3 guideline, pycnometer method. The sample was measured in triplicate at 20 °C, and the mean relative density was calculated.

The relative density D20 4 of the test substance has been determined to be 0.9491.

Description of key information

The substance is less dense than water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
0.949

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized OECD/EU method and under GLP, is available. It is considered as a key study. The result is retained as key data.
