Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Version / remarks:
(1995)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
thermal analysis
Remarks:
(differential scanning calorimetry)
Melting / freezing pt.:
-40 °C
Decomposition:
no
Sublimation:
no
Remarks on result:
other: Glass transition temperature.

The test item C-SAT 090103 shows no area of melting temperatures (in the 1st and 2nd heating run) up to 100 °C (at ambient temperature the sample is a fluid) according to the definition in the OECD Guideline 102. The heating run shows a glass transition temperature (amorphous components) at -40°C (1st and 2nd heating run). The cooling run shows no crystallisation.

DSC curves: see attached document.

Conclusions:
No melting and (upon cooling) no crystallization (freezing) temperature was determined for the test substance, using differential scanning calorimetry in accordance with EC A.1 and OECD 102. A glass transition was observed at -40 °C.

Description of key information

No melting and (upon cooling) no crystallization (freezing) temperature was determined.

A glass transition was observed at -40 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-40 °C

Additional information

Determined in a study performed in accordance with OECD 102, by differential scanning calorimetry.
