Description of key information

The predicted environmental photolytic half-life (t1/2) = 5960 days (16.3 years).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life in water:
16.3 yr

Additional information

The phototransformation of p-Cumylphenol in water was calculated in accordance with EPA OPPTS 835.2210 (Reimer, 2001).

The predicted environmental photolytic half-life (t1/2) = 5960 days (16.3 years). These results indicate that p-Cumylphenol would be relatively stable toward photolytic degradation in aqueous solution at or above 40 degrees N latitude.
