t1: time to first reaction: e.g. burning
t2: time to main reaction: e.g. bursting of tube

Due to the fact that the test series with a2.0 mm diameter orifice plate showed no explosion, the fact that the area of a 6.0 mm orifice is an order of magnitude higher and the physical state of the test item (solid) which excludes an enrichment of test item due to the evaporation of solvent an explosion can also be excluded for the 6.0 mm diameter orifice plate. This was verified by the forth measurement with a 6.0 mm diameter orifice plate.

Summarized Results

The test item contains a residual moisture of2.1 wt.-% which was determined by drying the test item under reduced pressure (approximately 100 mbar) at a temperature of 50 °C.
