Description of key information

Carcinogenicity studies have not been conducted for HMDTMP sodium and potassium salts. However, they are not required for Annex IX substances according to the REACH Regulation. However, HMDTMP sodium and potassium salts are not classified as a mutagen Category 2, and there is no evidence from repeated dose toxicity studies that they have any potential to cause hyperplasia or pre-neoplastic lesions.

Justification for classification or non-classification

There are no data to suggest that HMDTMP (4-7K) should be classified for carcinogenic effects according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
