First-aid measures

INHALATION
If inhaled: remove exposed person to fresh air and give rest. If patient continues to feel unwell, seek medical attention.
SKIN
Remove immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash affected area water/shower. Application of 2.5% calcium gluconate gel to the affected area is recommended. Get medical attention if burn or irritation occurs. Wash contaminated clothes before re-use.
EYES
If in eyes: rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call poison centre or doctor
INGESTION
If swallowed, wash out mouth thoroughly and give water to drink. Get medical attention. Do not indcue vomiting, unless instructed by medical personnel

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media: any in consideration of the surrounding area
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: None
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: May decompose if involved in fire producing very toxic fumes or gases (e.g. Hydrogen fluoride)
- Advice for fire fighter: Remove containers from fire or cool the, with water spray. Approved self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing must be used for all fires.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions: Ensure full personal protection is worn.
- Protective equipment and emergency procedures: Keep unauthorised personnel from spillage area. Ventilate area and avoid creating airborne dust.
- Environmental precautions: Follow prescribed procedures for responding to large spills and reporting to the authorities
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
For small quantities, wipe off with cloth or paper. For large quantities, carfeully sweep up or collect with vacuum cleaner. Collect spill and place in suitable container for disposal. Wash contaminated surfaces with copious water, and collect washings for safe disposal. Dilution and careful neutralization with a weak alkali will reduce the hazards of this product

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling: Avoid eye contact with the product, and inhalation of dust. Wear protective clothing. Wash hands after use. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store in a bunded area. Keep container tightly closed. Store in a cool well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Technical protection measures: Local exhaust ventilation or closed system is recommended
Avoid skin and eye contact by wearing chemical resistant and imprevious gloves (butyl rubber, silicone) and safety googles/face mask. Wear protective clothing (e.g. apron, overalls, etc.)
Wear respiratory protective equipment (recommendation: chemical acrtideg for acid)
A safety shower and eye wash fountain in the workplace is recommended

6. Hazardous decomposition products: Very toxic hydrogen fluoride gas or other gases may be produced by decomposition when the product contacts with acid, alkali, water or moisture, or is heated

Disposal considerations

The substance may be mixed with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator with an afterburner and scrubber

Use a licensed waste disposal contractor. Disposal must be in accodance with local, regional or national regulations.
