Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The chosen endpoint is the only available study. It was conducted under GLP according to OECD guideline 301 F on the registered substance itself. The method is to be considered scientifically reasonable with minor deficiencies in documentation, but the available information allows the conclusion that the test was properly conducted. Hence, the results can be considered as reliable to assess ready biodegradability of Phenol, 2,2'-methylenebis-(6-cyclohexyl-4-methyl).

There is no indication that the study and hence the result are not reliable, and so no additional data is required, no data gaps were identified. As the oxygen demand was similar to the negative control, biodegradation was determined to be 0%, hence, Phenol, 2,2'-methylenebis-(6-cyclohexyl-4-methyl) needs to be classified as not readily biodegradable.

In conclusion, for further risk assessment it is sufficient to regard only Phenol, 2,2'-methylenebis-(6-cyclohexyl-4-methyl), no degradation products need to be taken into account.
