Description of key information

Acute Toxicity

The acute toxicity of the test item to the freshwater fish rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) has been investigated and gave a 96-Hour LL50 value of greater than 100 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.

The acute toxicity of the test item to the freshwater invertebrate Daphnia magna has been investigated and gave a 48-Hour EL50 value of greater than 100 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.

The acute toxicity of the test item to the green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata has been investigated and gave a 72 -Hour EL50 value greater than 100 mg/L loading rate WAF. The Lowest Observed Effect Loading Rate ca 10mg/l and the no Observed Effect Loading Rate was >10 mg/L.

The substance is therefore not acutely toxic to aquatic species.

Chronic Toxicity

Mortality (immobilisation) occured predominantly at the highest test concentration of 2.5 mg/l, resulting in 70% mortality by Day 21. The "Lowest Observed Effect Concentration" was considered to be 2.5 mg/l. The "No Observed Effect Concentration" was considered to be 0.90 mg/l.

The substance is not classified for chronic aquatic toxicity based on acute and chronic test results.
