Endpoint:
oxidising gases
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid
Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid
Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Description of key information

The substance has no oxidising properties (reference 4.15 -3).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Oxidising gases (reference 4.15-1)

The test item is a solid at ambient conditions. This hazard class is only applicable for gases. Thus, the substance was not considered for classification as oxidising gas.

Oxidising liquids (reference 4.15-2)

The test item is a solid at ambient conditions. This hazard class is only applicable for liquids. Thus, the substance was not considered for classification as oxidising liquid.

Oxidising solids (reference 4.15-3)

According to the Guidance on Information Requirements (R.7.1.13), testing does not need to be carried out for organic substances (with the exception of peroxides), if the substance contains oxygen, fluorine or chlorine and these elements are chemically bonded only to carbon. As the test material contains oxygen bonded only to carbon a study is scientifically not justified and was hence not performed.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

Based on available data on oxidising properties, the test item is not classified according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the fourteenth time in Regulation (EU) 2020/217.
