Additional information

The screening evaluation failed to evidence any reason for concern, on the basis of the thermal behaviour investigation.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, 2.1.4.2 Screening Procedure section, the screening procedure is aims to identifying the presence of such reactive groups and the potential for rapid energy release. If the screening procedure identifies the test item to be a potential explosive, the acceptance procedure (section 10.3 of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria) must be performed.

The screening procedure failed to evidence any reason for concern, on the basis that the enthalpy of decomposition of the test item was less than 500 J/g, in the temperature range of 272.72 -312.89 °C (onset = 282.64 °C), with a related energy of 311.78 J/g.

In conclusion, the test item does not meet the criteria to be classified as explosive, according to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
