Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
auto-ignition temperature (liquids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
from 24 jul 2007 to 10 aug 2007
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
Remarks:
Product was injected by means of a volumetric syringe to assure a rapid injection. Before using, the test item has been heated at 100°C to melt it. But as the test item solidifies at about 80°C, it clogs the syringe. Thus, it was not possible to perform this test.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.15 (Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks on result:
not determinable because of methodological limitations
Remarks:
No results because the test item solidified.

No results because the test item solidified.

Conclusions:
None, the test was not completed.

Description of key information

It was not possible to perform this test nor in the solid form (the test item was expected to melt in the test system, preventing any measurement; REACH exempts from carrying out this test on the solid with melting point <160°C), neither in the liquid form (the test item has been heated at 100°C to melt it, but as the test item solidifies at about 80°C,it has clogged the syringe).
