Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The toxicity of the substance to microorganisms was determined as part of a toxicity control in a ready biodegradability study according to OECD TG 301B and GLP. In this study, activated sludge (obtained from a wastewater treatment plant treating domestic wastewater) was exposed to 80.3 mg/L sodium acetate (positive control) with and without addition of 36.0 mg/L of the test substance in 2 liters of test medium. In the toxicity control more than 25% degradation occurred in 14 days (based on ThCO2). Therefore, the test substance was assumed to be not inhibitory. Based on these findings, the NOEC for microorganism toxicity is determined at 18 mg/L.
