Description of key information
Based on its physical chemical properties, Styrax resinoid oil does not need to be classified as hazardous according to the criteria of Regulation 1272/2008/EC (CLP).
Styrax resinoid is an orange viscous liquid at room temperature
No melting point was determined for Styrax resinoid. A glass transition of the test item was observed at - 40.3°C to -37.8°C (235.4K – 232.9 K)
Styrax resinoid has no boiling point at standard pressure i.e. 1013.25 hPa.
Styrax resinoid has a density of 1.08 g/cm3 at 20ºC.
The initial vapour pressure of Styrax resinoid is 3.13 Pa at 25°C. (QSAR).
The log Kow of the constituents of Styrax resinoid ranges from 1.4 - 5.3.
The water solubilities of Styrax resinoid at loading rates of 1, 10 and 100 mg/L are 0.268 , 1.25 and 8.02 mg/L respectively at 20°C.
The flash-point of Styrax resinoid oil was 66°C.
Styrax resinoid oil is auto-ignitable with an auto-ignition temperature of 435°C.
