Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1 (Test method for readily combustible solids)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
ca. 4 min
Moisture (wt %):
0
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

In contact with flame the test material melted, emitted sparks and turned into a dark blue/black residue. Blue smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source no propagation of the combustion of the test item was obtained. Based on these results the test item is considered "not highly flammable".

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
In contact with flame the test material melted, emitted sparks and turned into a dark blue/black residue. Blue smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source no propagation of the combustion of the test item was obtained. Based on these results the test item is considered "not highly flammable".
Executive summary:

In contact with flame the test material melted, emitted sparks and turned into a dark blue/black residue. Blue smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source no propagation of the combustion of the test item was obtained. Based on these results the test item is considered "not highly flammable".

Description of key information

In contact with flame the test material melted, emitted sparks and turned into a dark blue/black residue. Blue smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source no propagation of the combustion of the test item was obtained. Based on these results the test item is considered "not highly flammable".

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

In contact with flame the test material melted, emitted sparks and turned into a dark blue/black residue. Blue smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source no propagation of the combustion of the test item was obtained. Based on these results the test item is considered "not highly flammable".

Justification for classification or non-classification

In contact with flame the test material melted, emitted sparks and turned into a dark blue/black residue. Blue smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source no propagation of the combustion of the test item was obtained. Based on these results the test item is considered "not highly flammable".
