Description of key information

The study does not have to be conducted as the results of the chemical safety assessment do not indicate the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or relevant degradation products on sediment organisms (REACH Annex X, column 2, 9.5.1).

Moreover, ozone is a gas and will move to the atmosphere after being released in the environment. Ozone is a reactive substance which will, as soon as it comes into contact, react immediately with soil components such as organic material and metal ions. The estimated Log Kow is -0.87 indicating the low adsorptive nature of ozone. Significant exposure of earthworms or other soil-dwelling non-target invertebrates is considered unlikely.
