Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Precautionary measures have to be followed. Do not empty
into drains, soil or aquatic environments. Take up the
spillage with an absorbent material. The taken up spillage
has to be filled in a labelled container and then tranported
to a incinerator plant.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Handling: Precautions have to be followed during the filling, cleaning and maintenance of the plant. The individual steps of work have to be conducted carefully to avoid a spilling or an escape of the substance. The spread of vapour has to be avoided by an extraction device. Suitable work clothings, rubber gloves, goggles and a full-face mask with the filter ABEK-P2 are prescribed during the work with the substance. Precautions have to be made that the substance or the water of firefighting cannot reach the soil or the stretch of water. Storage: Keep the container tightly closed and dry at room temperature. Opened containers have to be tighly closed again after use. Product residues have to be avoided on the container. Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200 l steel barrels with PE inlet for lager quantities use rail tank wagon

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection: No personal respiratory protective equipment normally required.

Hand protection: Wear CE Marked (or equivalent) nitrile rubber gloves (minimum thickness 0,40 mm). Wash when contaminated. Dispose of when contaminated inside, when perforated or when contamination outside cannot be removed. Wash hands always before eating, drinking, smoking or using the toilet.

Eye protection: Wear goggles conforming to EN166 (Field of Use 5 or equivalent).

Skin and body protection: Wear standard coverall and type 6 suit. Wear two layers of clothing wherever possible. Polyester/cotton or cotton overalls should be worn under chemical protection suit and should be professionally laundered frequently. If chemical protection suit is splashed, sprayed or significantly contaminated, decontaminate as far as possible, then carefully remove and dispose of as advised by manufacturer.

Hygiene measures
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Keep working clothes separately.
Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.
Remove soiled clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again.
Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt).
