Details on results:
In the present study, the n-octanol solubility of DIPENTAERYTHRITYL
HEXAHYDROXYSTEARATE/STEARATE/ROSINATE was determined to be about 354 g/I.

The water solubility of the test article was stated to be 0.3 mg/I ± 0.1 mg/I.

Basing on these data, the partition coefficient, log Pow, of DIPENTAERYTHRITYL
HEXAHYDROXYSTEARATE/STEARATE/ROSINATE was calculated to be:
log Pow = log (354 x 10^3 mg/I / 0.3 mg/I) = 6.1
Conclusions:
The partition coefficient, log Pow, of DIPENTAERYTHRITYL HEXAHYDROXYSTEARATE/
STEARATE/ROSINATE was estimated to be:
log Pow = 6.1
Executive summary:

In the present study the n-octanol/water partition coefficient of DIPENTAERYTHRITYL

HEXAHYDROXYSTEARATE/STEARATE/ROSINATE was determined using a calculation

method according to EEC directive 92/69. The solubility of the test article in water and in noctanol

indicates a partition coefficient above 6. Therefore an experimental method

according to OECD Guidelines 107 or Guidelines 117 could not be applied and the partition

coefficient of DIPENTAERYTHR汀YL HEXAHYDROXYSTEARATE/STEARATE/

ROSINATE was estimated using the solubility data in n-octanol and in water. Concerning solubility in water it is referred to the respective study. The solubility in n-octanol was determined to be 353.65 g/l.

The partition coefficient, log Pow, of DIPENTAERYTHRITYL HEXAHYDROXYSTEARATE/

STEARATE/ROSINATE was estimated to be:

log Pow = 6.1
