Description of key information

No tests have been performed with terrestrial micro-organisms. Considering the substance properties and the type of use of the substance the long term earthworm test was considered to be the most appropriate test. For strongly adsorbing substances soil-dwelling organisms that feed on soil particles are usually most relevant.

The long term terrestrial toxicity test with N-C16-18-alkyl-(even numbered, C18 unsaturated) trimethylpropane-1,3 -diamine resulted in a NOEC of 250 mg/kg dw for reproduction. The reliability of the long term earthworm test is considered higher than the results of the EPM. The observed NOEC of 250 mg/kg dw is therefore used for the derivation of the PNECsoil.
