Description of key information

- Not highly flammable upon ignition

- No pyrophoric properties

- Does not liberate flammable gases on contact with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The flammability was performed according to UN Test N.1

- Upon ignition the test item was brief burning followed by rapid extinction.

- Based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use of substance the pyrophoric properties and the flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Self-classification according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on CLP:

- Upon ignition, the test substance was brief burning followed by rapid extinction

- Based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use of substance the pyrophoric properties and the flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

It can be concluded that the substance should not be classified as a flammable material.

Further the substance does not need to be classified as a self-heating material as a negative result was obtained in a test using a 100 mm cube sample at 140°C.
