Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The exothermic decomposition energy was determined by DSC in a closed, high pressure cell with a heating rate of 2.5 K/min.

The exothermic decomposition energy was found below 500 J/g.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Self-classification according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on CLP:

Step 1:  Reactive groups: The substance contains one chemical group “Azo”  which might be associated with explosive properties.

Step 2:  Calorimetric test:  The exothermic decomposition energy was found a value of 290 J/g which indicated that the substance does not have a potential for rapid energy release (see section 4.19). Thus, it is not to be classified as an explosive material.
