Description of key information

The solubilities at 20°C were found as follows:

- solubilities determined via UV/Vis:

6.23 mg/L with a loading rate of 0.1 g/L at pH 6.9

33.0 mg/L with a loading rate of 1.0 g/L at pH 5.0

- solubilities determined via Cr content:

<4 mg/L with a loading rate of 0.1 g/L at pH 6.9

5.5 mg/L with a loading rate of 1.0 g/L at pH 5.0

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The determination was carried out by flask method according to OECD Guideline 105.

The test item is a complex mixture. Every constituent contributes to a different degree to overall solubility, depending on its own individual solubility and its mass fraction in the test item.

In addition to the determination via UV/VIS spectroscopy, the water solubility was therefore also investigated via determination of dissolved amounts of chromium, nitrogen and carbon, the main elements contained in the test item.

Different sample weights (different amounts of surplus) were applied (each about 0.1 g/L and 1.0 g/L) to investigate whether fractions of different solubility are existent (partial solubility).
