Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The 48 hour EC50 value of 4-amino-m-cresol to Daphnia magna was determined under semi-static conditions following procedures as described in the OECD guideline 202 acute toxicity for daphnia under GLP conditions.

4 replicates per test concentration with 5 daphnia per replicate were performed. The nominal tested concentrations were 0 (control), 0.10, 0.18, 0.32, 0.56 and 1.0 mg/L. These concentrations were analysed by LC-MS/MS on new and old media. Analysis of the freshly prepared test media at 0 and 24 hours showed measured concentrations to range from 102% to 112% of nominal. Analysis of the old media at 24 and 48 hours showed measured concentrations to range from 2% to 10% of nominal. Given the decline in measured concentration over each 24-hour exposure period, the results are expressed on time-weighted mean measured test concentrations. These were calculated to be 0.040, 0.060, 0.093, 0.15 and 0.26 mg/L and the percentage immobility (mortality) after 48h was 0, 20, 100, 100 and 100%, respectively.

The validity criteria for control immobility (≤10%) and dissolved oxygen (≥3 mg/L) at the end of the test were both satisfied.

The 48 hour EC50 of 4 -Amino--cresol to Daphnia magna was 0.20 mg/L (95% CL: 0.19 – 0.21 mg/L) based on time-weighted mean measured concentration.
