Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

 Results

 Thermal sensitivity (effect of a flame)

Tests with the 6.0 mm diameter orifice plateon the Butcherbroom dry extract sample are described below:

·        widening of the flame from around 19 seconds;

·        culmination phase from 21 seconds, with more intense flame, sample leaking, fire rain;

·        end of culmination phase at around 135 seconds;

·        end of the of any event after around 240 seconds.

Tests with the 2.0 mm diameter orifice plate on the Butcherbroom dry extract sample gave the same results described above except for a more intense flame and fire rain.

No one of the six tests performed (three with the 6.0 mm orifice plate and three with the 2.0 orefice plate) produced the fragmentation of the steel tube containing the Butcherbroom dry extract sample.

Mechanical sensitivity (shock)

Explosions did not occur (bursting into flame and/ or a report is equivalent toexplosion) in anyone of the six tests performed with impact energy of 40 J on a sample of Butcherbroom dry extract.

Then the sample of Butcherbroom dryc extract resulted not sensitive to shocking.

Mechanical sensitivity (friction)

Explosions did not occur (crepitation and/or a report or bursting into flame are equivalent to explosion) in anyone of the six tests performed with whit a loading of 360 N on a sample of Butcherbroom dry extract.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Then the Butcherbroom dry extract resulted not explosive.
