Description of key information

A glass transition temperature of -95 °C is measured for ethylene glycol butyl ether benzoate (2-butoxyethyl benzoate). With that the melting / freezing point of ethylene glycol butyl ether benzoate (2-butoxyethyl benzoate) is confirmed to be less than -20 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-95 °C

Additional information

According to Column 2 of REACH Annex VII the melting/freezing point does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of - 20 °C.
