Name:
EC_257_446_6__Iron Neodecanoic acid
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
EC_257_446_6__Iron Neodecanoic acid
Name:
Neodecanoic acid, iron salt
Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
Neodecanoic acid, iron salt
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Neodecanoic acid, iron salt was tested according to OECD 301B to be not readily biodegradable. Based on this available information, the test substance is considered to be vP (and P).

Neodecanoic acid, iron salt has a partition coefficient (log Pow) of 1.98 at pH 7, and 3.03 at pH 4 hence lacks any bioaccumulation potential.

All relevant  aquatic endpoints are > 0.01 mg/L for neodecanoic acid, iron salt. Therefore, the substance is not considered to fulfil the toxicity criterion T. Furthermore, the substance is neither classified as carcinogenic (category 1A or 1B), mutagenic (category 1A or 1B), or toxic for reproduction (category 1A or 1B, or 2), nor is there other evidence of chronic toxicity, as identified by the classifications "STOT RE 1, or STOT RE 2" according to CLP Regulation.

In conclusion, neodecanoic acid, iron salt is not readily biodegradable, not bioaccumulating, and does not fulfil any of the T-criteria. Therefore, the substance does not qualify for classification as PBT.
