guideline study without detailed documentation
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method C.1 (Acute Toxicity for Fish)
GLP compliance:
not specified
Vehicle:
yes
Details on test solutions:
Ethanol
Test organisms (species):
Danio rerio (previous name: Brachydanio rerio)
Details on test organisms:
TEST ORGANISM
- Common name: zebrafish
Test type:
static
Water media type:
freshwater
Limit test:
yes
Total exposure duration:
96 h
Nominal and measured concentrations:
500 mg/l
Details on test conditions:
TEST SYSTEM
- No. of vessels per concentration: 1 replicate with only test item.
- No. of vessels per control: 1 replicate.
- No. of vessels per vehicle control: 1 replicate with test item solubilized in ethanol.
Duration:
96 h
Dose descriptor:
LC50
Effect conc.:
> 500 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
mortality (fish)
Details on results:
At 500 mg/l, with and without 100 mg/l of ethanol as solubilizers, no effects were found. The indicated concentrations refer to the introduced and not to the dissolved amount of substance.
Conclusions:
LC50 (96h) > 500 mg/l (nominal)
Executive summary:

The acute lethal toxicity of test item to zebrafish was investigated under static exposure conditions, over a period of 96 h. The test was conducted according to the OECD guideline 203. The applied nominal test concentration was 500 mg/l. One replicates was tested with test item solubilized in ethanol and one replicate was tested including test item only.

At 500 mg/l, with and without 100 mg/l of ethanol as solubilizers, no effects were found.

Conclusion

LC50 (96h) > 500 mg/l (nominal)

Description of key information

LC50 (96h) > 500 mg/l (nominal)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information
