Description of key information

The substance is a liquid as evidenced by the referenced melting point study (mp -33 °C).

Boiling point endpoint is waived as substance decomposes before boiling (SADT is 25 °C).

The relative density of tert-pentyl peroxypivalate, 75 % solution in isododecane is 0.8619 (± 0.0000). Note that the organic peroxide cannot be handled in pure form.

The vapor pressure of commercially marketed Trigonox 125-C75 at 35 °C is 100 Pa (contains 25 % isododecane).  From this, the vapor pressure of the contained tert-amyl peroxypivalate is calculated as 14 Pa @ 35 °C.

The partition coefficient log Kow value for tert-amyl peroxypivalate is 3.3.

The measured water solubility is 504 mg/L @ 20 °C.
