Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

APPEARANCE OF THE SAMPLE

Before the test, the appearance of the sample was dark violet powder. After the experiments the test item blackened and its volume increased in the crucible.

Conclusions:
The substance decomposes before melting (at ca 210 °C)
Executive summary:

The thermal behaviour of test item was assessed using the DSC analysis, according to the OECD guideline 102 and OECD guideline 113.

The test was carried out at normal atmospheric pressure. The endotherm and exotherm peaks in the thermograms do not imply phase transition from a solid to liquid state. Using a linear heating rate melting point was not observed from room temperature up to 500 °C.

During the heating two consecutive exothermic signals were observed in the temperature range of approx. 172 – 254 °C (onset 210 °C) that can be associated with the decomposition of the test item.

Before the test, the appearance of the sample was dark violet powder. After the experiments the test item blackened and its volume increased in the crucible.

Conclusion

The substance decomposes before melting (at ca 210 °C)
