Description of key information
Algae inhibition:
There are two algae inhibition studies available for this substance. A Klimisch 1, GLP compliant algae inhibition study was conducted according to OECD 201. Based on nominal loading rates, the 72-hour EyL50and ErL50values were calculated to be 0.42 mg/L and 0.79 mg/L, respectively. The corresponding NOEL values for yield and specific growth rate after 72 hours were 0.25 mg/L. The second study is deemed unreliable with a Klimish rating of 3 due to significant methodological deficiencies leading to inconsistences in the analytical measurements and toxicity values which prevent a reliable classification determination.
Acute daphnia:
There are two acute daphnia studies available for this substance. A Klimisch 1, GLP acute daphnia study was conducted according to OECD 202. The 48-hour EL50 value was determined to be greater than 4.0 mg/L loading rate WAF. The corresponding No Observed Effect Loading rate (NOEL) was determined to be 4.0 mg/L loading rate WAF.
The second study is deemed unreliable with a Klimish rating of 3 due to significant methodological deficiencies leading to inconsistences in the analytical measurements and toxicity values which prevent a reliable classification determination.
Acute fish:
A Klimish 1, GLP acute fish study was conducted according to OECD 203. The LC50 > 0.69 g/L.
Activated sludge inhibition:
A Klimisch 1, GLP compliant ASRI study was conducted according to OECD 209. The effect of the test item on the respiration of activated sewage sludge micro-organisms gave a 3-Hour EC50 value of greater than 1000 mg/L. The NOEC after 3 hours exposure was 1000 mg/L.
