- The substance “Reaction product of DMO-THF, water and ethanol” is a complex reaction mixture (UVCB substance) consisting of several constituents. The starting materials are, 2,5-Dimethoxytetrahydrofuran (DMO-THF), Water and Ethanol. During reaction also methanol is formed.
The fact that the substance is a complex reaction mixture, is fundamentally incompatible with the n octanol/water partition method, which requires that the substance under test remain intact in the aqueous phase.
For the main constituents information on log KOW (Ethanol: -0.14 calc; Methanol: 0.77; DMO-THF: 0.27 calc) is available, indicating a low bioaccumlation and adsorption potential.
