Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
boiling point
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
Decomposition before melting occurs > 250 °C (exp.), see IUCLID section 4.2.
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2013
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Remarks:
no GLP
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
capillary method
Key result
Atm. press.:
1 atm
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
> 250 °C
Remarks on result:
other: The test material decomposes before melting occurs
Conclusions:
The test material decomposes before melting occurs at > 250°C. The study was performed according to OECD TG102 (no GLP) without deviations and therefore reliability of Klimisch 2 has been assigned.
Executive summary:

The melting point of the test material 1-(3-sulphonatopropyl)-2-vinylpyridinium was determined experimentally using the capillary method in a non-GLP test according to OECD guideline 102. The test material decomposes before melting occurs at > 250°C.
