Description of key information

Screening conditions demonstrate that little degradation occurs in the short term in the absence of light. However tests have demonstrated that solutions degraded by light are susceptible to extensive biodegradation over longer duration, indicating that degradability in the wider environment is possible. In the overall context of environmental fate mechanisms, removal by irreversible binding to inorganic substrates (see IUCLID Section 5.4.1) is a much more significant removal process for HMDTMP category member substances than biodegradation.
