Description of key information

Flash point = 62.5°C (experimental)

The test item is considered as NOT classified as Flammable Liquid according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) - See endpoint 4.11.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

As the substance is a liquid, the relevant test for flammable properties is the flash point measurement. A reliable experimental study is presented under point 4.11.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 criteria, the measured flash point (62,5°C) is above the threshold value of 60°C, therefore the substance is NOT considered as a flammable liquid.

The flashpoint of the substance being higher than 60°C but lower than 93 °C (cf section 4.11), the substance is considered as a Flammable Liquid Category 4 according to UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS).

Based on the chemical structure of the major constituents of the substance and experience in handling and use of the substance, no flammable properties are anticipated if contact with air or water, therefore studies were deemed unnecessary in accordance with section 1 of REACh Annex XI.

Finally considering that the substance is a liquid, no classification as self-heating substance is anticipated.
