Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008
The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. The test substance was found to be not readily biodegradable in a study according to OECD guideline 301 D. The 96 -h LC50 for Danio rerio was determined to be >100 mg/L. The 48 -h EC50 for Daphnia magna (a liquid sample containing 16% dyestuff was tested) was > 100 mg/L. In a growth inhibition test with Lemna gibba a 7-d EC50 and NOEC (growth rate based on frond number) of >100 mg/L and 100 mg/L were determined, respectively. As the registration substance has a log Pow < 4 (< -1.37 at 20 °C), classification as long-term (chronic) aquatic toxicity category 4 is not considered. Based on these results, the substance is neither classified for short-term (acute) aquatic hazard nor classified for long-term (chronic) aquatic hazard according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) as amended for the twelfth time in Regulation (EU) No 2019/521.
