Description of key information

A  calculated log BCF value 1.36 indicates a low  bioaccumulation potential for 2,2’(octadec-9-enylimino)-bisethanol. All primary fatty amine ethoxylates are however readily biodegradable and are rapidly biotransformed by fish liver S9 fractions and  it is therefore unlikely that they will accumulate in the food chain.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
23.4 L/kg ww

Additional information

The calculated BCF value of 23.4 L/kg (log BCF 1.36) indicates that 2,2’(octadec-9-enylimino)-bisethanol has a low bioaccumulation potential. The low calculated BCF is considered to be realistic as primary fatty amine ethoxylates are readily biodegradable and have been found to be metabolized quickly in fish liver S9 fractions.
