Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The water solubility of the reaction mass of mixed xylenes and sulphur monochloride was determined to be < 0.1 mg/L. The substance is therefore considered to be insoluble in water.
Executive summary:

A GLP study was performed in accordance with OECD Guideline 105 and EU Method A6 to determine the water solubility of reaction mass of mixed xylenes and sulphur monochloride. The determination was made by the flask method using HPLC-UV to quantify the dissolved test substance. Triplicate determinations showed the water solubility to be below the limit of detection, therefore a limit value, based on the lowest concentration standard solution analysed for confirmation of the limit of quantitation, was reported. The solubility of reaction mass of mixed xylenes and sulphur monochloride in water was reported as less than 1.0 x 10-4g/L (<0.1 mg/L) at 20°C.
