Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The distribution in a sewage treatment plant (STP) has been estimated using the SimpleTreat model (implemented in EUSES 2.1.2), see table below.

Table: Distribution modelling for STP

Fraction of emission directed to air by STP

6.69

[%]

Fraction of emission directed to water by STP

6.92

[%]

Fraction of emission directed to sludge by STP

86.4

[%]

Fraction of the emission degraded in STP

0

[%]

1,3,5-trimethyl-1,1,3,5,5-pentaphenyltrisiloxane is not expected to undergo any significant biodegradation, and is predicted to have very high Henry’s Law constant and has high predicted log Kow/log Koc. Therefore, sludge is the main compartment to which it is expected to partition in a sewage treatment plant, with partition to water and air also being significant.
