Description of key information

The surface tension of 5-Amino-o-cresol as a 1 g/L aqueous solution was 65.95 ± 0.30 mN/m at 20.0 ± 0.5⁰C, measured by the OECD harmonized ring method (OECD 115).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:

Additional information

The surface tension of 5-Amino-o-cresol was determined by following the OECD 115 guideline (OECD harmonized ring method) and the GLP.

The determination of surface tension was accomplished by means of a Kruss K11HRX tensiometer, at a temperature of 20.0 ± 0.5⁰C. The force which is required to withdraw a horizontally suspended ring from the surface of the solution was measured. An aqueous test solution at 1g/L was tested. The test material solution was treated with ultrasonic for 1 min at room temperature.

The surface tension of 5-Amino-o-cresol as a 1 g/L aqueous solution was 65.95 ±0.30 mN/m at 20.0 ± 0.5⁰C.
