Environmental exposure controls

There is no risk for the environment at the consumer step and when the risk management measures are applied, the risks for the environment are controlled at the formulation step.

Risk Management Measures at the formulation site :

No air emission controls are required.

Soil emission controls are not applicable as there is no direct release to soil.

Risk management measures are proposed to limit the releases to the aquatic environment. RCR based on CHESAR and Msafe level were calculated. A generic risk assessment was done with the assumption that only one formulation site is using 100 t/y (worst case approach), and taking into account the Cosmetic Europe SpERCs (medium scale 2.1.fv2). Risk Management Measures may be to limit the quantity of substance used on the formulation site to 11 T/y or if 100T/y is used in the formulation plant to treat onsite the wastewaters with an effectiveness ≥ 88.75%. Moreover the formulation plant has to be connected to a municipal sewage treatment plant.

External treatment and disposal of waste should comply with applicable local and/or national regulations.

Risk Management Measures for the consumers :

Avoid releases to the environment and dispose of contents/container at a licensed facility.
