Reference
Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
26 Sep - 27 Sep 2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Version / remarks:
adopted in 2008
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Storage conditions: ambient temperature (10 to 30 °C), dry
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions
Remarks:
No self-ignition temperature seen up to maximum test temperature of 399 °C.

Results
The test item showed an endothermic effect in the temperature range of 155 to 160 °C and an exothermal effect in the temperature range of 160 to 185 °C. No further endothermic nor exothermic effects were seen up to the final test temperature of 399 °C.

Conclusion: No self-ignition temperature was seen up to the maximum test temperature of 399 °C.

Description of key information

Not self-heating (EU Method A.16.)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a test according to EU Method A.16., no self-ignition was observed up to the test temperature of 399 °C.
