Description of key information

Data from Neononanoic acid was used as read across to the C9-13 neo-fatty acids and evaluated for ready biodegradability in O.E.C.D. Test Guideline 301 B Modified Sturm Test. The level of biodegradation of the test substance under the conditions of the test was 0% after 42 days. Neononanoic acid was not readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

Based on the results of the O.E.C.D. Test Guideline readily biodegradation study with neononanoic acid, the C9 -13 neofatty acids is not readily biodegradable.
