Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

p-Cumylphenol was determined to be hydrolytically stable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The hydrolysis potential of p-Cumylphenol was investigated in a GLP study performed according to OECD Test Guideline 111 (Reimer, 2001).

The observed concentrations of PCP in the solutions indicated that the extent of apparent hydrolysis at 50.0 ± 0.1 °C was -4 ± 2, 0.1 ± 0.5 and 5 ± 2 % at pH 4, 7 and 9, respectively. The negative value (-4 %) is consistent with the inherent error of analysis for a hydrolytically stable substance. The experimentally observed values of ‘extent of hydrolysis’ are expected to be distributed about 0 %, and include both small positive and small negative values.
