Description of key information

The toxicity of the test material to aquatic invertebrates was investigated in a GLP study which was conducted in accordance with standardised guideline OECD 202 at the highest attainable test concentration of 0.031 mg/L under semi-static test conditions.  Due to the very low water solubility of the test material in water and auxiliary solvent, analysis of the test media during the study showed significant declines in measured test material concentrations and at 24 h had declined to less than the limit of quantification.  No immobility and no sub-lethal effects of exposure were observed throughout the test.  Given the lack of effects on the test organisms, the difficulties maintaining the levels of test material for the duration of the test and with analysing the test material, the long-term test on daphnia it was not considered scientifically necessary.
