The sample was observed to undergo an exothermic event from 33.1°C which had a heat of decomposition of -68.1 J.g-1. A second exothermic event was then observed to commence from 139.6°C which had a heat of decomposition of -359.5 J.g-1. No further significant energetic events were noted up to 400°C.

Conclusions:
The sample was observed to undergo an exothermic event from 33.1°C which had a heat of decomposition of -68.1 J.g-1. A second exothermic event was then observed to commence from 139.6°C which had a heat of decomposition of -359.5 J.g-1. No further significant energetic events were noted up to 400°C.

The exothermic decomposition is less than 500 J per g (Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, Annex I, Part 2, 2.1.4.3 (c)), so the material is not explosive. The flash point of the material is >81 oC.
