Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Description of key information

Not explosive

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

In accordance with adaptation statement of Regulation (EC), no. 1907/2006 (REACH), Annex VII, column 2 the determination of the explosive properties (as required in section 7.11 of Annex VII) was waived based on a structural assessment of the substance. The test item does not contain any functional groups quoted in ‘Manual of Tests and Criteria’ (sixth revised edition, appendix 6, and table A 6.1) or Bretherick’s – Handbook (6th Edition, Volume 2, p 128 ff) which may indicate explosive properties. Therefore, it can be concluded by expert judgement that the substance has not to be considered for classification as explosive (reference 4.14-1).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008

Based on the structure of the molecule and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP), the test item does not have to be classified with respect to explosiveness.
