Results

Assay No. 1

Duration of the test: 794.5 min

Rate: 0.50°C/min

Observations:

At the start of the test, the test item was a white powder.

At the end of the test, the cube was empty, the test item melted

The plot/curve is shown in figure attached (Graph 1)

Assay No. 2

Duration of the test: 796.5 min

Rate: 0.50°C/min

Observations

At the start of the test, the test item was a white powder.

At the end of the test, the cube was empty, the test item melted

The plot/curve is shown in figure attached (Graph 2)

Conclusion

No self-ignition temperature of the test item was observed up to the melting point at about 200°C (corresponding to the small endothermic peak).

Conclusions:
No self-ignition temperature of the test item was observed up to the melting point at about 200°C using a relevant test method and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable.

Description of key information

Self-ignition temperature: no self-ignition up to the melting point of 200°C (EU Method A.16)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The self-ignition temperature of the substance was assessed in a study that was conducted in accordance with EU Method A.16 and in compliance with GLP. During the study, no self-ignition temperature of the test item was observed up to the melting point at about 200°C. The result is considered to be reliable and is used as key study.

A minimum cloud ignition temperature value of 590°C was determined for the milled sample (<63 µm) of the substance in accordance with BS EN 50281-2-1:1999.
