Additional information

Three experimental results are available for the registered substance: acute fish, acute invertebrates and algae (ErC10 and ErC50).

The EC50 for invertebrates and algae were 2.6, 0.94 mg a.i./L.

For animal protection reasons, the fish test was performed as limit test with a nominal concentration of 0.94 mg a.i./L. Due to unforeseen decline of the test concentration from 72 to 96 hours, the geometric mean measured concentration was 0.85 mg a.i./L. Since none of the exposed fish showed any sign of toxic symptoms, the limit test was considered to have demonstrated that the fish are at the maximum of equal sensitivity when compared to algae. However, based on the lack of effects (NOEC) in fish at the concentration less than 10 % lower than the ErC50 of algae is very likely that the fish will be significantly less sensitive when compared to algae. Therefore, the fish test was not be repeated for animal protection reasons.

Hence, the result of the algae study will be used for the risk assessment.
