The verification of the Al2O3 -V2O5 phase diagram has proved that at the content of ~8 mol % Al2O3 and ~92 mol % V2O5, the components heated to ~ 640 °C form a eutectic: AlVO4 + V2O5. AlVO4 melts incongruently at 745 °C, releasing the solid α-Al2O3.

Conclusions:
Aluminium vanadium tetraoxide melts incongruently at 745 °C, releasing the solid α-Al2O3.

Description of key information

Aluminium vanadium tetraoxide melts incongruently at 745°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
