Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The toxicity on algae by Tempo is expected to be above 100 mg/L by a read-across approach.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In an analogous read-across approach, the experimental data of 4 -Hydroxy-Tempo on algae toxicity has been considered for the target substance Tempo. The source substance was tested for toxicity to algae in a 72 h-static test according to OECD guideline 201. The EC50 based on growth rate was assessed at 1038 mg/L. The overall NOEC was determined at 22 mg/L. A similar behaviour regarding toxicity on algae is expected for the target substance. Therefore, the EC50 of Tempo is expected to be at least above 100 mg/L.
