Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2015-12-08 to 2016-03-07
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to other study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: OECD Guideline 113 (Screening Test for Thermal Stability and Stability in Air)
Version / remarks:
adopted 12 May, 1981
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: UN recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods: Manual of Tests and Criteria, Rev. 5 (2009) and UN-Model-Regulations, Rev. 19 (2015)
Version / remarks:
2015
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
> 210 - ca. 500 °C
Remarks on result:
other: first exothermic transition at 210°C - 310°C, second exothermic transition at 470°C -500°C, second transition was not finished at the maximum test temperature
Conclusions:
According to the results obtained from a study conducted according to OECD guideline 113 (adopted 12 May, 1981) the substance revealed two exothermic transitions which are regarded as decomposition of the substance. Decomposition occurred at 210-310°C and at 470 - 500°C and was not finished at the maximum temperature of the test (500°C); Thus, the substance is considered to decompose but exhibits no boiling point.

Description of key information

study according to OECD guideline 113 (adopted 12 May, 1981), differential scanning calorimetry, decomposition at 210 - 310°C and at 470 - 500°C, decomposition was not finished at 500°C,

no boiling point because decomposition of the substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a study according to OECD guideline 113 (adopted 12 May, 1981) the substance decomposes at 210 - 310°C and at 470 - 500°C and decomposition was not finished at 500°C; no boiling point because decomposition of the substance.
